THE SILK LIST
NO. 01 · THE WEEKLY EDIT

WELCOME TO THE SILK LIST
Welcome to the first issue of The Silk List, a weekly edit of the beautiful things worth knowing.
Every week, we’ll curate the places worth booking, things worth buying, experiences worth trying and little luxuries that make everyday life feel better. Not everything expensive is worth it. Not everything beautiful needs to be expensive. We’re here to know the difference.

The Florence Edit
THE STAY

A 15th-century monastery above Florence, reimagined.
Villa San Michele has reopened after an 18-month transformation, bringing new life to the former monastery overlooking Florence. Come for the Renaissance history and sweeping city views; stay for the kind of terrace breakfast that makes leaving the hotel feel entirely optional.
The Short List
4 THINGS WORTH KNOWING

THE UPGRADE
Airport lounge access, but only when you have enough time to actually enjoy it.

THE FIND
The $104 leather work tote that looks far more expensive than it is, with a dedicated 13-inch laptop slip.

THE LITTLE LUXURY
Fresh flowers for no occasion at all. A small weekly habit that makes home feel instantly more considered.

THE EXPERIENCE
Book the restaurant for the atmosphere, not just the menu. The kind of dinner that gives you a reason to dress up.
The Silk Take
EXPENSIVE DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN LUXURIOUS

The best kind of luxury isn't always the thing with the highest price tag. It's the hotel room with the view you'll remember, the dinner that makes you dress up, fresh flowers on an ordinary week, or simply having enough time to enjoy where you are. The price can be part of the story, but it should never be the whole story.
OUR RULE: IF THE PRICE IS THE MOST INTERESTING THING ABOUT IT, SKIP IT.

3 MORE THINGS ON OUR RADAR
A few more finds we couldn't leave out this week, one to wear, one to experience, and one to save for later.

Printemps New York is turning its iconic Red Room into a runway on September 19. Even better, tickets are free.

Amanvari just opened on Mexico's Sea of Cortez. Eighteen casitas, serious seclusion, and one for your someday list.
A Final Note
BEAUTIFUL THINGS, WELL CHOSEN
“Good taste isn't about having more. It's about knowing what's worth choosing.”
Until next time,

Consider it kurated.
